I have not achieved a lot lately. However I have cut up the rear cut and the panels that I need are getting acid dipped at the moment to remove all the paint underseal and what rust there is. The rear L/H corner has been cleaned off so that I can see how much needs to be replaced and fortunately it is not as bad as the R/H side mainly the taillight area, I found a small patched up (bogged) rust hole in the L/H front corner of the boot drip channel have welded a patch in there. I have also taken the car off the rotisserie so that I can complete the panel repairs in the boot area and then remove the front panel as this will need to be replaced along with the lower radiator support panel and some chassis rust repairs and the replacment strut tops and as I found last night I may need to replace the upper L/H A pillar both inner and outer as they are quite badly rusted away. Fortunately this is not as hard as it could be as I have the roll cage to hold this area in place while I do it. So it keeps moving forward all be it slowly.

Well it has been a couple of good weeks. I have picked up the engine and gearbox, I have purchased a large gearbox tunnel which I will be picking up today and it looks like I have sourced a good rear cut and hopefully struttops which I will pick up this coming weekend. so we should see some serious progress in the coming weeks. Keep coming back to check on how I am going.

I have now had over 2400 visits to the site so to all of you I say thanks. I have not done much to the car except for cleaning off underseal and welding up the old bolt and paint drain holes and giving the floor a good coat of undercoat so I won't bother putting up any pics. However there has been a change of direction for the power plant I have purchased a 2.0 pinto with a 5speed box at a good price so it looks like she will be a rs2000 replica now. I will pick up the engine and box this weekend so will post pics next week when I get the engine home
Until then have a good week

Finished stripping the underseal on the L/H side passengers side floor and welded up the rust holes and gave it a coat of POR15 oher than that not too much achieved this weekend

the front inner and outer section showing the amount of welding I have had to do. It doesnt look tidy but when I cover it with under seal it will hide most of the bad stuff

the center section is not too rusty bt has a number of old bolt holes which needed to be filled

Th un cleaned rear section still to do this area

and with a coat of POR 15
