Well it has been a couple of good weeks. I have picked up the engine and gearbox, I have purchased a large gearbox tunnel which I will be picking up today and it looks like I have sourced a good rear cut and hopefully struttops which I will pick up this coming weekend. so we should see some serious progress in the coming weeks. Keep coming back to check on how I am going.

I have now had over 2400 visits to the site so to all of you I say thanks. I have not done much to the car except for cleaning off underseal and welding up the old bolt and paint drain holes and giving the floor a good coat of undercoat so I won't bother putting up any pics. However there has been a change of direction for the power plant I have purchased a 2.0 pinto with a 5speed box at a good price so it looks like she will be a rs2000 replica now. I will pick up the engine and box this weekend so will post pics next week when I get the engine home

All ford day Auckland

Hi guys here are some photos from the All Ford day at North Harbour Stadium.

Finished stripping the underseal on the L/H side passengers side floor and welded up the rust holes and gave it a coat of POR15 oher than that not too much achieved this weekend

the front inner and outer section showing the amount of welding I have had to do. It doesnt look tidy but when I cover it with under seal it will hide most of the bad stuff

the center section is not too rusty bt has a number of old bolt holes which needed to be filled

Well I have finally managed to get something done this week. I have stripped the R/R footwell back to bare steel and POR15ed that area and started to clean off the L/H underside floor I have found a few rust spots here but thank fully I will be able to repair these with the mig welder.  However I have found a goodsized kink in the L/H chassis rail so will need to see what I can do about that. It looks like I will be needing to source a donor car to get some patch panels off. I have found a 4door runner with a 1600 and a 5speed so that is looking promising but it is in another city and I will need to go and check it out before I buy it and getting time off at the moment is difficult as I seem to be working 7 days a week.

A sad week for New Zealand

No work done on the car because of other commitments. However on Tuesday afternoon in Christchurch A large earthquake hit the city. At the time of writing this post there are over 70 confirmed dead and more than 300 missing. The death toll is expected to rise. My heartfelt sympathies go out to everyone in Christchurch ALL of New Zealand is feeling your loss

To start off this entry I have taken a few more photos of my girl and also the car I took to concors' today 13 Feb

This is how I manage to fit 3 cars into a 2 car garage I love that rotisserie

The R/H bubble and the lower rear 1/4 with the bog removed

This is how the rotisserie is bolted to the front through the bumper bolt holes

This shows how the rear is fitted through the lower bumper bolts and also the inner tail light holes

This is the L/H tail light showing the Bog in this area

Thr upper R/H 1/4 still a lot of work to do here

To assist with positioning the rotisserie I welded a 12mm nut over one of the pin holes and just tighten the bolt when I need to
